What is specific to Dominica right now
- Since January 1, 2026, Proclamation 10998 has suspended new immigrant visas and B-1/B-2, F, M and J visas for Dominica nationals, citing citizenship by investment without residency; visas issued before that date were not revoked. B-1/B-2 applicants who can still get a visa are also subject to the visa bond program, in place since January 2026 and permanent since August 2026. It was on the State Department's list of 75 countries whose nationals' immigrant visas were paused from January 21, 2026; a federal court set the pause aside on August 21, 2026, and the government's appeal was still pending as of October 2026.
